Light shapes a room before anything else does — the mood, the focus, the way it feels to live in. Together we layer that light thoughtfully, shaping atmosphere and highlighting what matters, from first idea to final fixture installation.

Middle Road - Newly built and filled with light, while striving for a Scandi-minimalism.
LED tapes in flat coves throughout. Also under-shelf lighting for tasks.
Bedroom cove so the cathedral ceiling can bounce light back into space. Those curtains make the room GLOW!

Modern Farmhouse - This Kitchen has a rail system for up and down-lighting for ambience & tasks, plus two island pendants.
Sitting area lit by a Euro-classic pendant & plentiful table lamps.
Primary bedroom with en-suite.
The Dining area had no lights before so sconces and a Twiggy floor lamp were added.
The Guest room gets a touch of elegance with a cyrstal chandelier and practicality from Tolomeo reading lamps.
Old Barn Conversion - Original barn timbers appear throughout, including here in the bedroom.
The kitchen includes a pass-thru awning window to the 3 season porch.
The open floor plan provided a blank canvas for an eclectic collection of furnishings & fixtures. We added LED tapes to the main beams to bounce glare-free light into the spaces.

Outdoor Kitchen - The GC's original 'napkin' sketch of the roof structure.
That sketch became this awesome space! Uplighting LED tapes for ambiance, LED cable lights for tasks.
A firepit fronts the kitchen. The stairs and deck beyond are lit with tunable LED tapes.

Complete Design Services
From first meeting to final walkthrough: a lighting design matched to your plans and your budget, fixture specs for your electrician and on-site visits where possible that may include a final review at move-in.
Lighting by the Hour
For one problem area, a second opinion, details on fixture specifications or ongoing support of your contractor or electrician during your build.
In person or virtual, billed as you go.
Also available: design plan reviews, digital sun-studies for pre-construction daylighting decisions, color & finish selections, and CAD work in SketchUp, VectorWorks & Morpholio.

About
I came to lighting through four decades in live performance work — theater, opera, dance, concerts, film — learning how light shapes emotion and draws the eye. That background carried into architectural work on Martha's Vineyard, first as resident lighting designer for South Mountain Company, then as an independent design consultant. Projects range from new SFR builds and barn conversions to ski lodges and restaurants.Influences range from the modernism of Le Corbusier & Mies van der Rohe to the pure lighting design of Poul Henningsen & Ingo Maurer.I am an Associate Member of the Illuminating Engineering Society.
